The Shifting Boxes, is a professional competition project in 2014.It is an office building designed for after expo use in Shanghai. The brief required us to keep a close up exhibition pavilion designed by Wang Shu, originally for Shanghai Expo use. The idea is to play with boxes — aggregating, shifting, rotating, etc, and still fulfill the functional requirements, as well as corresponding to the existing Wang Shu pavilion.
